This evening I have a very special person whom some of you know, to lead the meditation and do a talk on the Mandala and its power.

Karen is an amazing healer along with being an expert glass worker which you will see from the Mandalas she will share.

A mandala has been used for centuries as a tool for self-reflection and self-exploration, in many different cultures and religions. A mandala in simple terms is a circle with a design in the center, including sacred geometric shapes. The mandala is an expression of inner reality, as well as the outer reality of the universe, with the center point representing the self. When you create a mandala you are making a portrait of yourself. Carl Jung belied that contemplating the mandala you can unveil your unconscious thoughts. Pythagoras believed that mathematical truths shift the psyche closer to divine perfection. Thus the mandala can provide you with deep insights for cultivating spiritual and psychological well-being.

Karen has been making glass mandalas for several years and recently began teaching this, including meditation and qigong as part of the four-day journey into mandalas in glass. Here are some of her creations:
