Founded in 1448 Muckross Abbey was built as a Franciscan Friary to cater for the Observantine Franciscans. Muckross House was built here too in 1839 for Henry Arthur Herbert and his wife. This was actually the fourth house that successive generations of the Herbert family occupied at Muckross over a period of almost two hundred years.
Since 2002, Sacred Mystical Journeys has been taking pilgrims on spiritual journeys to sacred destinations – all of which are an adventure on behalf of the soul; a spiritual intensive.
